Lewis and Clark 1804:
On May 14, 1804, William Clark, and the Corps of Discovery set out from Saint Louis, Missouri, with orders from President Jefferson, to explore and chart the rivers of the American West. They met up with Meriwether Lewis upriver, and set off on their journey. They were also to establish trading relations with Native American tribes, and to document new wildlife, flora and fauna along the route to the Pacific Ocean. We began our western adventure 200 years, and 15 days after their journey began!
