Gettysburg
October 18, 2003

A reenactment group, portraying the Tennessee 7th Infantry, Company D, was camped out in the battlefield.

This Johnny Reb was eating some chicken soup.

When Riah saw this soldier warming toes near the fire, he replied, "I guess they are having pigs for supper!" He amuses me.

I truely felt like whistling Dixie...

This small lean to type tent didn't look very comfortable.

We were seriously hungry, and I could have gladly enjoyed these victuals with the troops. Makes me really want to roast a chicken!

Riah firing on his Mommy again! He liked the brass binoculars hanging on this tent.

We will call this photo, "WHOA!" Notice the sharpshooter hiding behind the horse.

I love red. I love barns.
Need I say more?

A close up of the previous barn.

The Codori Farm

I like signs... and this one was very unique. "Relic Hunting Prohibited"

One last family shot (no pun intended) before leaving town.

Riah liked the cannons, as any red-blooded American boy would!

I just love this picture! What a handsome little Yankee!

The sky was so lovely.

We did a "u-e" for this sign. I absolutely love it! One of my favorite signs ever! I had "kids" as a kid, so I am partial to goats.

This barely does the sky justice.

We pulled off along Route 30 for this.

An interesting barn

The same barn from the other side

Having lived in Illinois, we are familiar with round barns.

This one was an orchard where we hoped to get some cider, but they had already closed when we got there.

Hard to read, but the sign points to where the Appalachian Trail crosses Route 30. We've been along many sections of the trail in various National Parks.
